Orchard Park is approximately 11 miles southeast of Buffalo in Western New York. A well maintained highway system provides convenient travel between Orchard Park’s rural setting and the excitement of downtown Buffalo, approximately 20 minutes away. The Southern Tier Expressway (Route 219) can be accessed from several points in the town, quickly linking travelers with Interstate 90 East and West.
Lake Erie’s shores and the Peace Bridge to Canada are 20 minutes away, while ski slopes, wineries, Darien Lake Theme Park/Resort, the breathtaking wonder of Niagara Falls and Letchworth State Park(the “Grand Canyon of the East”), are all within a one hour drive. Opening the door to the world, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport is a 15-mile drive from Orchard Park. Bus service between Orchard Park and Buffalo is provided by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. Taxi service is also available.
In addition to the Buffalo Bills, the city has representation in the National Hockey League with the Buffalo Sabres (First Niagara Center), AAA Baseball with the Buffalo Bisons (Coca-Cola Field), farm team for the New York Mets, and Buffalo Bandits indoor lacrosse (First Niagara Center).
Despite Buffalo’s exaggerated reputation for long winters, Western New York’s temperate climate provides residents with a little of everything. Four magnificent seasons offer a variety of outdoor activities. Average annual snowfall is 70 inches. Daily summer temperatures range in the high 70s and low 80s. Winter days are typically in the 20s and 30s.
